Missouri reaches into Kansas to land commitment from highly productive receiver Mekhi Miller
The momentum Missouri has under Eli Drinkwitz’s direction continues to be put on display as the Tigers just reached into a neighboring state to land the commitment of a rising prospect.
On Wednesday, Mekhi Miller of Blue Valley North High School in Topeka, Kan., announced his commitment to Mizzou, adding to the program’s momentum in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
While Miller currently does not have a recruiting ranking listed by 247Sports, the Tigers’ newest commit had 93 catches, 1,065 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season according to his highlight reel — which can be viewed below.
That’s just the level of production Drinkwitz and company are looking for in a receiver, especially one that is listed at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds.
Following Miller’s pledge, Missouri now holds commitments from four prospects in the 2022 recruiting cycle: four-star safety Isaac Thompson, four-star athlete Ja’Marion Wayne and three-star tight end Max Whisner.
Missouri’s 2022 recruiting class is currently rated No. 3 in the SEC and could rise once Miller is graded by 247Sports.

All right more speed and welcome to Mizzou. But I don’t believe Blue Valley North H.S. is anywhere close to Topeka, KS.
Yeah….my kids go to Blue Valley schools. We live in Overland Park, KS. Definitely not Topeka.
Maps of cansass are somewhat incomplete, no one goes there because no one wants to go there.
Good looking receiver.
good athlete, plays bigger than he is. With a quarterback where he doesn’t have to wait on the ball, he will look three times as good. Good speed. With some power training in the weight room his speed and quickness at 20, 40 and 60 yards will be a lot better.
Somebody ought to say Missouri looks like a lot better destination than K-State, and not even mention k-hawks, but I’m not gonna do it, no i’m not gonna do it….(John Wayne “the cowboys”)
Looks like Mekhi was born in Topeka (60 miles from the KC metro area Blue Valley S.D. in Overland Park)…. where he now sports a 4.O GPA. That’s fairly common SDS fans. That state line region was my high school coaching days home and we had lots of metro area incoming families from other school districts even back in the stone age.
So thanks Michael Wayne you weren’t far off here. Also a fun fact… the Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, aTm finger flip to the old almost dead conference somewhat coincides with the more frequent defection of Kansas athletes to bigger higher profile SEC ‘missouri’. And to those of you that don’t understand what used to be
a game of interest, this is why renewing the missouri vs kansas college sports contests is a step backwards and a waste of an important college sports weekend.
If you are reading this Jim Sterk please as to be excused from these contracts, they are worse than the other non-conference yawners by a significant margin and have no potential to help Missouri, but might help stall the death of the big 12 for another year.
Easy Booch, young Mr. Bratton is not from Missouri and after all Kansas being 420 miles wide with Blue Valley’s School district sitting on the eastern end, Topeka is only roughly 60 miles from ‘said’ east east-end Blue Valley. Plus Youth1 Sports web says he was born in Topeka. So it would be easy for a young journalist to make that jump of illogic.
When i graduated from high school having a 4.0 grade point average was an eyebrow raiser. Mekhi Miller sports a 4.0 at Blue Valley North. That’s maybe more interesting than knowing when he transformed himself from a Capitol City kid to one of the bigger more affluent suburban Kansas City school districts. And yes I know we now live in the age of standardized test scores vs. teacher job security GPAs, but a tip of the hat to young Mr. Miller is in order here SEC football fans… even from James Brothers south of the 36th parallel, reference a historical tidbit of interest to fans from the “southeast usa?
Thanks Michael Wayne from Tennessee for being the SDS story man on this.
Here are two Tiger commits that have good potential, Izack Zatecha, OL, All-Stater from Elkhorn (Nebraska) and Jack Meyer, DE/TE from Francis Howell St.L.MO. Welcome to the Zou and to Campus. Jump on those first practices and first classes hard and never let up.
