Two Missouri fans carrying a sign supporting last week’s on-campus student protest and the football team’s role in it were denied entry to Saturday’s game.

Security at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium would not let the women bring the sign into the stadium, saying it was a political statement.

The women were allowed to enter the stadium after returning the sign to their car.

Missouri was playing BYU at Arrowhead, the Kansas City Chiefs’ home stadium.

Concerned Student 1950 is an activist group at the University of Missouri. It received national attention this month for nonviolent anti-racism protests that pushed for school president Tim Wolfe’s resignation and on-campus reforms. The protest included a hunger strike by graduate student Jonathan Butler. The protests ended after Wolfe resigned on Monday.
