Mark your calendars Mizzou fans, we now know when the Tigers first spring game under Eli Drinkwitz will take place.

The 2020 edition of the Black and Gold Spring Game will be played on April 11 at 1 p.m., Missouri announced on Tuesday.

It should be interesting to see how the Tigers look under the team’s first-year coach as Missouri is coming off a 6-6 season in the final season under Barry Odom. That’s a stat to note looking ahead to the 2020 season as the rest of coaching changes in the SEC came after losing seasons at Arkansas (2-10), Ole Miss (4-8) and Mississippi State (6-7).

While there’s much work to be done in Columbia to turn the Tigers back into SEC East contenders, you could easily argue that Mizzou is in the best position to quickly make those adjustments moving forward. When you consider Drinkwitz retained defensive coordinator Ryan Walters, defensive line coach Brick Haley and secondary coach David Gibbs, the Tigers have a solid foundation of consistency to build upon on the defensive side of the ball heading into spring practice.

Now the biggest question mark in Columbia surrounds the program’s offense, which will be called by Drinkwitz next season, and the new assistants the Missouri coach hired upon his arrival following a 12-1 season at Appalachian State.
