Marcus Johnson just earned himself a promotion in Columbia.
While he will still serve as the team’s offensive line coach, Johnson has just been named Mizzou’s Assistant Head Coach and Run Game Coordinator.
“Coach Johnson is a tremendous leader of young men,” Drinkwitz said in a released statement. “His work with our offensive line is a key element to our future successes. He has a bright future with our program.”
Johnson has been on staff one season in Columbia after serving two seasons as Joe Moorhead’s offensive line coach at Mississippi State and two seasons as David Cutcliffe’s offensive line coach at Duke.
“My family and I are incredibly grateful to Coach Drinkwitz for this opportunity,” said Johnson, whose unit has 14 returnees listed on the 2021 roster.”It’s been exciting to see our staff come together this winter and spring. We have great momentum going here at Mizzou.”
