Mizzou is preparing for its first real test of the season this Saturday vs. Boston College. Fortunately, the Tigers received some good news on the injury front Thursday evening.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, star tight end Brett Norfleet is expected to return to the lineup in Week 3. Norfleet did not play against Buffalo in Week 2 after an injury to his shoulder in the season opener.

As a freshman, Norfleet had 18 catches for 197 yards but he produced 3 touchdowns from that total. His 3 touchdowns were tied for 3rd on the Tigers last season.

The matchup with Boston College is suddenly a ranked showdown with the Eagles checking in at No. 24 nationally after a 2-0 start, including a win over Florida State. On the other side, Mizzou is up to 6th in the country and looking to keep things rolling in a key SEC vs. ACC showdown.

Though this week’s game is a top-25 matchup, Mizzou is a heavy favorite heading into the action. The Tigers are -16 per bet365, and the point total for the game is set at 54.

Eli Drinkwitz’s squad outscored opponents 89-0 across the first two games, and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers can keep that kind of dominance going in a key nonconference matchup.
