After deciding to not finish Missouri’s 2020 season, defensive back Adam Sparks could be resuming his college football career elsewhere.

247Sports reports that Sparks has now entered the NCAA transfer portal. Sparks’ opt-out was revealed ahead of Mizzou’s Senior Day. The senior last played in a Mizzou game on Oct. 31 against Florida.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana-native is coming off of a 2019 season in which he played in 11 games as a junior, posting 17 tackles (14 solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss, one pass deflection and a forced fumble. This season, he played in five games, recording 10 total tackles. Sparks last played in the Florida game on Oct. 31.

The former 3-star class of 2017 prospect has played in 37 games over the past four seasons, having not yet used his redshirt season. He has 99 career tackles and 3 interceptions.

All college football players are able to return for 2021 with the same eligibility they had entering this fall, which will allow Sparks to play again despite being a senior this fall.
