Mizzou's offense nearly set two records in loss to Tennessee
Missouri was blown out Saturday 63-37 at Tennessee, but the Tigers offense came close to tying two NCAA records.
Missouri was five plays from tying the NCAA single-game record of 115 in Saturday's game & four 1st downs short of NCAA record of 45

First-year Mizzou coach Barry Odom brought in Josh Heupel as offensive coordinator for 2016. Heupel’s offense places an emphasis on playing fast which results in more snaps than previous approaches.
If one could pair MU’s 2015 defense with the 2016 offense, the Tigers would be in business:

Missouri hosts Arkansas on Saturday in its season finale.
All those plays and no W..
Still lost the game and let the vols walk out hoisting the”championship of life” trophy, LOL
the what? lol
It’s in their trophy case next to the Week Two championship trophy; dag-namit Butch!
At least we actually have 6 real National Championship Trophies and 13 SEC Championship trophies in our case. Bahahahahaha. I just looked it up and Mizzou’s last championship was a 1969 Big Eight Title. I wonder if its too late to swap Mizzou for Va. Tech or West Va.
Aren’t you supposed to be gone?
Mizzou fans need to be quite and feel lucky UT didn’t hang 70+ on them.
Awe, somebody’s wittle feelwers got hurt. Thanks for reminding everybody again what Tennessee football did a couple of decades ago / last century; add it all up and it equals the 1st loser spot behind Florida this year. Must sting to win life.
I guess someone forgot about his bet, and is not a man of his word. You lost but here you are. I figured you’d be back, you are truly a pathetic pos and no one takes you seriously on this site.
We’re playing classic Big 12 football in the SEC… Explosive offense and porous defense. Odom didn’t hire one coach from the SEC beyond the few he retained from Pinkels staff and it shows. Those numbers mean nothing, cause there will forever be a footnote attached to those numbers mentioning our loss.
Andrew, any way you could break down the stats for the pass drops the receivers have had this year? That might be an article all in itself
In this case, there are so many ways the total number of plays can be disconnected from winning the two shouldn’t be discussed in the same article. On the other hand if one wants to examine the real problems running all those plays present for both teams then that’s interesting OR if one wants to discuss how the got the opportunity to run all those plays, OR if one wants to discuss why there is a difference between points scored and the total plays…or several other ideas. Here’s one interesting connection, Tennessee scored quickly on big plays from scrimmage several times.
Injuries or no injuries Bob Shoope defense playing worse than ole Sal’s under Dooley Totally Unacceptable!!!
