On the move again: Former Mizzou QB Chase Daniel signs new contract

Former Mizzou QB Chase Daniel has reportedly found a new NFL opportunity.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that Daniel is signing with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he will serve as backup and mentor to Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert.
A former undrafted free agent, Daniel in the NFL for more than a decade. He has played for Washington (2009), New Orleans (2009-12; 2017), Kansas City (2013-15), Philadelphia (2016), Chicago (2018-19) and Detroit (2020).
In his NFL career, Daniel has thrown just 261 passes for 178 completions, 1,694 yards, 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Despite the unimpressive career stat line, Daniel has made $38.7 million in his career. Schefter notes that his Detroit contract still has $1.5 million in guaranteed money.
Veteran QB Chase Daniel is signing a one-year deal with the Chargers, per source. Deal has $1.5 million in guarantees remaining from his contract with the Lions. Daniel reunites with his former coaches Brandon Staley and Joe Lombardi and will mentor Rookie-of-Year Justin Herbert.
