Report: Former Mizzou DE Markus Golden sends money to help cover funeral costs of murdered 8th grade football star

Markus Golden grew up in St. Louis before going to college at Mizzou. Once at Mizzou, he played well enough to go on to the NFL.

Sadly, St. Louis eighth grader Jaylon McKenzie will never get that chance, as the football phenom was shot and killed outside a party over the weekend. McKenzie, who already was being recruited by Mizzou and other Power 5 programs, was a talented all-purpose back.

It’s sad that it had to come to this, but it certainly is a classy gesture from Golden, who is entering his first year with the New York Giants after spending four years with the Arizona Cardinals.
