Former Mizzou big man Jontay Porter went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft after leaving school early, but he then signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on March 8.

Of course, that was at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic here in the United States, so the NBA season was placed on hiatus shortly thereafter.

Porter has yet to make his NBA debut, but according to Max Baker of the Columbia Missourian, Porter will be with the Grizzlies when they head to Orlando to resume the season late in July:

It appears that former Missouri basketball standout Jontay Porter will be joining the Memphis Grizzlies in Orlando as NBA teams prepare for the restart of the season, a league source confirmed.

The Grizzlies will kick off the NBA restart on July 31 against the Portland Trail Blazers. Porter’s brother, Michael Porter Jr., plays for the Denver Nuggets. The Grizzlies and Nuggets aren’t set to meet during the 8-game resumption of the regular season, but it’s possible the Porter brothers could meet in the postseason.
