Sam Hartman, asked after the Gasparilla Bowl what his process is for what comes next, was not exactly in the business mood. He was ready to celebrate.

“Find me the place with the coldest drinks,” Hartman said, per Matt Fortuna.

Hartman capped a strong career at Wake Forest with a 27-17 win over Missouri in the Gasparilla Bowl on Friday night, as Hartman completed 23 of 36 passes for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns in what was expected to be his final game.

Hartman threw his 108th career touchdown pass to set an ACC record. He had been tied with Clemson’s Tajh Boyd (2010-13), and ended up with 110 overall.

For the Tigers, it was the end of a disappointing season. Mizzou ended 2022 on a low note, as Year 3 of Eli Drinkwitz’s tenure finished with a 6-7 record.
