Social media reacts to Mizzou's stunning 45-41 victory over LSU, thrilling goal-line stand
The Missouri Tigers now have their first win under coach Eli Drinkwitz, stunning No. 17 LSU in Columbia 45-41 on Saturday afternoon.
The Mizzou defense came up huge, stopping the LSU offense on the goal line to clinch the victory. It was a big day for starting QB Connor Bazelak as well, who had 406 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.
Drinkwitz’s play-calling had LSU’s defense out of sorts all day, and offensively, LSU went 0-for-10 on third down. Both teams are now 1-2 on the season.
Here was the final play of Mizzou’s fourth-quarter goal-line stand:

There was a lot of fan and media reaction to the Mizzou upset. Here’s a look at what was being said on Twitter in the aftermath of the game:
In LSU's two losses — the opening game loss to Mississippi State and today's loss to Missouri — Bo Pelini's defense has given up a combined 1,218 yards and 89 points.
Missouri averaged 8.6 yards per play today.

A reminder that #LSU was really happy with their schedule because it started with three (assumedly) winnable games before they played any major foes.
They're now 1-2, and still have to play Florida, Auburn, Alabama and Texas A&M. https://t.co/njr0X0b9Ah

Lots of heart from #Mizzou today. Impressed with Eli Drinkwitz offense and a clutch goal-line stand to upset LSU. Bo Pelini's D has now given up 632 yards and 586 yards to new coaches breaking in new systems with new QBs in two of the first three games. Ouch.

Mizzou takes the lead late. How does LSU not fire Bo Pelini? Their defense is a total catastrophe.
