Theo Wease has played with some talented teammates in his career, but he told reporters Tuesday that Luther Burden is creeping toward the top of that list.
Wease played alongside Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb when they were at Oklahoma. Wease’s freshman season in 2019 was Lamb’s final year at the collegiate level.
On Tuesday, Wease said Burden is making a case as the best teammate he’s ever played with.

Wease saw Lamb pull off some pretty incredible feats in their lone season together in Norman. In 2019, Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. His season included a 10-catch, 171-yard, 3-touchdown performance in a win over Texas.
But Burden is proving to be a worthy competitor. The former 5-star prospect leads all FBS receivers so far this season with 644 yards. He’s also 2nd in receptions nationally with 43 to start the season.
He’s been a big reason for Missouri’s 5-0 start this season. The Tigers will try to move to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in SEC play on Saturday as they host LSU.
