The 2023 NBA Draft will take place next month in Brooklyn. Both Round 1 and Round 2 will be held on Thursday, June 22.

When commissioner Adam Silver steps to the podium in Round 1, several SEC players should hear their names called.

This week, CBS Sports analyst Kyle Boone updated his Round 1 projections ahead of the upcoming NBA Combine. As you can see below, he has 5 SEC stars going in Round 1 — all of whom are freshmen. Alabama’s Brandon Miller is the first college player off the board at No. 3:

  • No. 3 — Brandon Miller, F, Alabama — San Antonio Spurs
  • No. 8 — Anthony Black, G, Arkansas — Washington Wizards
  • No. 11 — Cason Wallace, G, Kentucky — Orlando Magic
  • No. 19 — GG Jackson, F, South Carolina — Golden State Warriors
  • No. 20 — Nick Smith Jr., G, Arkansas — Houston Rockets

Will any additional SEC standouts work their way into the first-round mix at the combine? We’ll see how the next few weeks play out before June 22 in Brooklyn!
