Anthony Davis is not a popular man in Louisiana.

The former Kentucky basketball standout and 8-time NBA All-Star (2014-2021) began his basketball career in New Orleans when the franchise selected him No. 1 overall in 2012. In 2019, however, Davis informed New Orleans he would not sign an extension with the franchise and requested a trade. He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in July 2019.

In Louisiana, it’s safe to say basketball fans are still bitter about Davis leaving for LA. In a viral video (with some NSFW language) shared on Twitter, the only chips left on a store’s shelves ahead of Hurricane Ida are bags of Ruffles featuring Davis’ image.

Jokes about Davis and his Ruffles aside, we hope everyone in Ida’s path is stocked up on food and other supplies. The storm recently made landfall in Louisiana as “an extremely dangerous category 4 hurricane.”
