The NCAA Softball Tournament Schedule starts Friday, May 20, 2022, as 64 teams begin their quest to reach the Women’s College World Series. Of the field of 64 teams, 32 of them received automatic qualifications. The remaining 32 teams were selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Softball Committee. Sixteen teams were seeded and placed at one of the 16 regional sites.

The Oklahoma Sooners received the No. 1 overall seed. The Sooners are currently 49-2 overall in 2022.

The Regionals are scheduled to be played Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22. The Super Regionals are scheduled to be played Thursday, May 26 through Sunday, May 29. The Women’s College World Series starts on June 2 and finishes June 9th or 10th.

2022 NCAA Softball Tournament Schedule and Results

The NCAA Softball Tournament Regionals is a four-team, double-elimination tournament. The 16 winners of each regional will advance to the Super Regionals where they will play a best-of-3 series to advance to the Women’s College World Series.
