The NCAA Softball’s Women’s College World Series starts this week from Oklahoma City at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium — OGE Energy Field.

The World Series starts, Thursday, June 2 and will finish Friday, June 10.

No. 1 seed Oklahoma Sooners are the favorite to win the College World Series. Joining OU, 4 other nationally-seeded teams will play in the tournament — No. 5 UCLA, No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Northwestern and No. 14 Florida. Texas, Oregon State and Arizona are all unranked teams to reach the College World Series.

The tournament format consists of 2 4-team double-elimination brackets.

Sixty four teams entered the tournament which began May 20, 2022, and the Women’s College World Series is set to start on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Thirty-two teams were originally selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Softball Committee. Sixteen teams were seeded and placed at one of the 16 regional sites. The regional site winners advanced to a best-of-3 Super Regionals. The winners of the Super Regionals advanced to the World Series.

  • The final 8 teams have made their way to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series.
  • No. 1 Oklahoma is the favorite to win the national title; however, 4 other national seeds are in the World Series, too — No. 5 UCLA, No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Northwestern and No. 14 Florida.
  • Three unranked teams also made the final 8 — Texas, Oregon State and Arizona.
  • The Women’s College World Series starts on Thursday, June 2.
