Missouri officially launched sports betting today, the 39th state to offer legal sports betting in the United States.
Missouri online sports betting launched today at midnight with eight licensed online sports betting platforms. Several in-person sportsbooks also opened, ushering in the state’s sports betting landscape to take advantage of the final remaining months of NFL and college football.
DraftKings Missouri, FanDuel Missouri, bet365 Missouri, BetMGM Missouri, Caesars Missouri, Fanatics Sportsbook Missouri, Circa Sports, and theScore Bet (formerly ESPN BET Missouri) are now open in the Show-Me State.

Two Big Missouri Sports Betting Changes
The Missouri sports betting landscape is set with eight sports betting operators, but one previously licensed company has since pulled out of the state and another has rebranded its platform moving forward.
Underdog recently pulled its temporary online sports betting license from the state and will instead focus its efforts into the predictions market. Underdog Predictions is currently available in Missouri.
Missouri Gaming Commission Chairman Jan M. Zimmerman confirmed the license withdrawal to Saturday Down South. A separate member of the Missouri Gaming Commission provided this comment:
“Underdog withdrew their application for a sports wagering license, but they maintain their fantasy sports contest operator license in good standing.”
Additionally, PENN Entertainment will no longer offer ESPN BET in the state. PENN Entertainment and ESPN BET Missouri ceased their 10-year sports betting partnership in early November, with PENN officially rebranding its sports betting platform to theScore Bet and ESPN BET shuttering its doors on Dec. 1.
Customers can now register accounts for theScore Bet in the state. Registered ESPN BET accounts in the state will automatically be rebranded to theScore Bet, according to a PENN spokesperson, with all funds and promos automatically transferring to the new platform.
Long Time Coming
Missouri voters approved both online and in-person sports betting in November 2024, approving a constitutional amendment by an incredibly narrow margin Missouri voters approved Amendment 2 in November 2024’s general election, with the Secretary of State’s Office reporting a margin of victory of just 7,486 votes to legalize retail and online sports betting in the state.
Voters approved the sports betting amendment by 1,469,866 yes votes to 1,462,380 no votes.
The Missouri Gaming Commission believed it would launch sports betting this past spring, but had to delay until Dec. 1 after Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins rejected proposed emergency sports betting rules and regulations in February.
The Missouri Gaming Commission awarded temporary online sports betting licenses to DraftKings, Circa Sports, FanDuel, Underdog, Fanatics Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, PENN Entertainment, bet365, and BetMGM this past October. As explained, Underdog will no longer offer sports betting in the state and PENN Entertainment will rebrand to its theScore Bet platform.
