Our Top Picks for Bucs-Panthers, Seahawks-49ers

Two games are in action on Saturday: Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers. Here’s a quick look at our top picks for today’s pair of NFL matchups:

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks WR: Higher 99.5 receiving yards

The 49ers have absolutely zero pass rush, which means Sam Darnold and the Seahawks will have plenty of time to work in the passing game. You just can’t expect defensive backs to keep up with JSN for that long. It feels like Smith-Njigba is in for a simply massive outing when his team needs him most.

Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR: Higher 24.5 receiving yards

This projection is almost disrespectful, especially given Carolina’s complete and total lack of a pass rush. Egbuka has finished under this total 3 times this season and is averaging well over this number, and Mayfield will have all day in the pocket against this Panthers defensive line. Egbuka could realistically pass this number with one reception on Saturday, too.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers QB: Lower 245.5 passing yards

I like Brock Purdy and I hate to be a downer, but going from facing Chicago’s defense to playing Seattle’s defense in a week’s time might give the 49ers offense a little bit of whiplash. What the Niners did last week without several key offensive players was impressive, but the Bears offered little resistance. Seattle, on the other hand, has one of the best defenses in the league. The first matchup between these two was a defensive battle, and I think it’ll be a lot of the same this time around.
