The ACC Baseball Tournament 2025 title will be decided on Sunday, with the championship game matchup set during Saturday’s semifinals.
In the first semifinal, No. 5 seed Clemson faced off against No. 1 seed and regular-season ACC champion Georgia Tech. Though the Yellow Jackets entered as the top team, it was the Tigers who pulled through with an impressive 9-4 win.
A 5-run 3rd inning proved to be the massive difference in the game, punctuated by a 3-run home run from Jacob Jarrell. He led the Tigers with 4 RBI while 2 Clemson relievers combined to shut the Yellow Jackets out across 5.1 innings of relief.
No. 2 seed Florida State and No. 3 seed North Carolina in a game that would come down to the final inning. The two sides swapped runs across the 4th and 6th innings into a 5-5 tie, and the game stayed that way all the way into the 9th.
In the top of the 9th, UNC’s Kane Kepley provided the tie-breaking blow with a 2-run single to make it 7-5, in favor of the Tar Heels. Walker McDuffie would come out of the bullpen to lock things down, only allowing a 2-out walk in his save to send UNC to Sunday’s title game.
Sunday’s final between Clemson and North Carolina is set for a 12 pm ET first pitch with a broadcast set for ESPN2.
The two sides have not faced off yet in the 2025 season, though Sunday’s game should be a dandy without having a major impact on the NCAA Tournament. According to the latest projections from Baseball America, UNC is projected to be a top-8 seed as a host site through the Super Regionals en route to the College World Series, while Clemson was a top-16 seed as a potential host site for the regional round.
Regardless of those projections, the two sides will face off with a chance to win a title on Sunday.
