The Iron Bowl Rivalry is heated across all levels of sports, and the Alabama and Auburn baseball teams delivered another thrilling addition to the series’ history Saturday night.

With the Crimson Tide having already claimed a a commanding 11-1 win during Friday night’s opener in Tuscaloosa, the second contest was much more of a nail-biter.

The game stood tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Alabama had already put a player on second base with no outs on the board. Redshirt-senior outfielder Bryce Fowler stepped to the plate, and he crushed a ball to deep left-field.

A Tigers outfielder attempted to undercut the hit, but the ball landed safely on the grass to give the Crimson Tide another win over their hated rivals.

The walk-off hit was Alabama’s first of the season, and it secured another win over fifth-ranked Auburn to move the home side to 21-7 overall and 5-3 in the SEC. This result dropped the Tigers to 20-6 and 4-4 in league play.

Fowler & Co. will go for the series sweep when they host Auburn for the third bout of the series at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
