SEC baseball is looking to keep its dominance of College World Series winners rolling this season, and the league is featured prominently in the latest NCAA Tournament projections produced by D1Baseball.
The folks at D1Baseball dropped the most recent batch of those projections on Sunday evening, with the regular season in the rearview and conference tournament action on tap this week. The SEC Baseball Tournament gets rolling in Hoover, AL, on Tuesday, and a total of 13 SEC teams are projected to make the field, per D1Baseball. Preseason No. 1 Texas A&M is currently on the outside looking in, but the Aggies were included in the “four to watch” section for this week.
Overall, 6 teams from the SEC are projected to host in the regional round, and all 6 are projected as top 8 seeds. That means those teams would host through the Super Regionals should they advance out of the regional round.
Here are the projected national seeds from the SEC:
The ACC is projected to produce 4 host sites while the Big Ten is projected to host 2 regionals via conference newcomers Oregon and UCLA.
For now, fans can buckle in for the conference tournaments and look forward to the race to the College World Series in Omaha.
