While conference tournaments are still ongoing, D1Baseball has issued a new update projecting the field of 64 for the college baseball NCAA Tournament.
The new update, published on Friday morning, once again includes 13 SEC teams who are projected to make final bracket. The outlet is also expecting a total of 6 teams from the SEC to serve as national seeds in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
Here are the projected national seeds from the SEC:
- (1) Texas
- (2) Arkansas
- (3) Vanderbilt
- (5) LSU
- (6) Georgia
- (7) Auburn
Additionally, the projection includes a one more regional host from the SEC: No. 15 Tennessee. The Vols have had a good week in Hoover and will face Vanderbilt for a spot in the SEC title game on Saturday. This represents a change from last week’s projection when the Vols were listed as a No. 2 seed.
Beyond the hosts, there are 6 other SEC teams currently projected to make the field of 64: Oklahoma, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida.
That list still does not include Texas A&M, who remains on the wrong side of the bubble despite a good start to its week at the 2025 SEC Baseball Tournament. The Aggies likely need to pull off a couple more upsets in Hoover in order to have a good chance of making the NCAA Tournament. They will face LSU on Friday evening.
The road to the College World Series is scheduled to begin next week with Regionals starting on May 30.
