Jace LaViolette hasn’t officially declared for the 2025 MLB Draft, but after 3 successful seasons with Texas A&M, it’s essentially a given that the dynamic outfielder has played his final inning of college baseball.
LaViolette on Tuesday posted a video with a farewell to Aggies fans and the Texas A&M program.
“I never expected Texas A&M to impact me as much as it did,” LaViolette said. “The moment I stepped on campus, it was like I was engulfed in a family full of people who loved and cared about me and wanted me to succeed at my fullest potential. And I can’t put it into words what it meant to play in front of the 12th Man every single day and get to come enjoy life in front of all of you and get to show you my personality.”
LaViolette will go down as one of the greatest baseball players in Aggies history. After hitting a freshman record 21 home runs and 63 RBI in 2023, he crushed 29 homers and 79 RBI in 2024 as the Aggies were College World Series runners-up. His 29 home runs were the second-highest single-season total in Texas A&M program history.
His production dipped in 2025 as he slugged 18 homers and 56 RBI while hitting just .258, as the Aggies missed regionals despite being ranked No. 1 in the preseason polls. Still, he’s expected to be a Top 10 pick in the MLB Draft as his next stop is all but confirmed to be in the pros.
