LSU is one win away from another National Championship.

The Tigers defeated Coastal Carolina 1-0 on Saturday night behind an instant-classic performance from Kade Anderson. The talented lefty pitched all 9 innings, limiting Coastal to just 3 hits on the day. This result ended a remarkable 26-game winning streak for Coastal Carolina.

It was history for Anderson, who turned in the first complete game shutout at the College World Series since 2018 in what will almost certainly be his final collegiate outing.

Here’s a replay of the final out:

Anderson was sensational for the Tigers on a day when they needed him to be great. LSU’s offense produced a lone run against Coastal, which came back in the first inning on an RBI single from Steven Milam. Coastal Carolina starter Cameron Flukey was excellent, striking out 9 LSU batters in 6 innings of work.

Anderson was able to work around some early traffic on the base paths. He appeared to be nervous early on as Coastal drew 2 walks in the opening frame. The Chanticleers picked up a few more free passes on the day, but it was never enough to score.

When it was all said and done, Anderson pitched 9 innings of shutout ball while allowing 3 hits and 5 walks. He threw a staggering 130 pitches in the win.

LSU will have a shot at the national championship on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers are expected to start Anthony Eyanson in that game. Coastal Carolina is slated to start ace Jacob Morrison with its season on the line.

First pitch for Game 2 is slated for 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Fans looking for a way to watch the game can do so with a free trial from FuboTV.
