No. 2 LSU baseball suffers stunning loss to Northeastern

The Northeastern Huskies handed LSU its second loss of the season and picked up their third win of the season as they took down No. 2 LSU 13-10.
The Huskies jumped out to a 10-0 lead after 3 innings. LSU would try to climb its way back into it, scoring 8 runs over the last 3 frames, but the Huskies’ lead would be too much for the Tigers to overcome. The Huskies finished the game with 15 total hits to LSU’s 10.
Northeastern starting pitcher Ryan Griffin earned the win, holding the No. 2 team in the country to 2 runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings of work. Griffin finished the game with only 2 strikeouts.
LSU’s starting pitcher, Cooper Williams, earned the loss after allowing four runs, only one earned, on three hits in just 1.0 inning of work.
LSU earns its second loss of the season, dropping one to McNeese back in late February. The loss is especially surprising when you take a step back. LSU is currently the odds-on favorite to win the national title per Kalshi. Here’s a look at more of the top odds:
