Ole Miss raced out to an early 5-1 lead in Friday’s SEC Baseball Tournament action vs. Arkansas. However, the Rebels will be hoping a pair of outfielders will be okay after a massive collision.

During one fly ball in the 2nd inning, right fielder Ryan Moerman and center fielder Isaac Humphrey collided at full force with both diving for the ball in right center field. The ball bounced past both fielders to the wall.

Humphrey stayed down on the turf in pain while Moerman had the presence of mind and enough strength to grab the ball and fling it back towards the infield. The play officially went down as an inside-the-park home run for Cam Kozeal with the Rebels unable to recover and get the ball back to the infield in time, but the bigger concern was the status of Humphrey and Moerman, as both stayed down on the field for a long time.

Here’s what the play looked like live:

The training staff was quick out of the dugout to check on both players. While both were down for quite some time, they were both able to return to their feet on their own strength.

Humphrey would ultimately give things a go and return to action in center field. Moerman was not as lucky; he attempted to stretch out his legs, but experienced his left knee buckling in the process.

Hayden Federico has since replaced Moerman in right field as Ole Miss carries a 5-2 lead into the top of the 3rd inning.
