Arkansas baseball just pulled off perhaps the most impressive result in the SEC this season. The Razorbacks defeated No. 1 Texas Saturday afternoon 13-8 to secure a series sweep.
Arkansas beat Texas 6-1 on Friday to hand Texas its first series loss of the season after blanking the Longhorns in Game 1, 9-0.
While Games 1 and 2 were won with outstanding pitching efforts, the Razorbacks took Game 3 with offensive firepower. The team launched 5 home runs, including a pair each from Brent Iredale and Reese Robinett.
Robinett’s day was particularly impressive. Heading into Saturday he had not hit a single home run on the season, but he exits 3 hours later with 2 on the year. He also posted 6 RBI, leading the squad Saturday.
Against the No. 1 team in the country. It’s hard to have a better day at the office, folks.
Robinett’s second long bomb of the day gave Arkansas the lead, and the Razorbacks never looked back. This one was a no-doubter:
The Razorbacks are now 40-9 on the season while Texas falls to 38-8 and 19-5 in SEC play. Arkansas will be back in action next week in Baton Rouge, facing off against another elite LSU team.
