Tennessee is undefeated so far in 2026.
The Vols played their most challenging game of the season so far on Friday night against Kent State. It was knotted up 3-3 in the 9th, and Tyler Myatt decided to end it there instead of playing on.
With a towering blast to deep center field, Myatt delivered the 4-3 victory for Tennessee.

Tegan Kuhns had a strong outing. He allowed 1 earned run over 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, walking 3 and striking out 4. Kuhns, though, did not get the win as the Golden Flashes scored on the UT bullpen in the top of the 8th and the 9th. Brady Frederick, who recorded 2 outs in the top of the 9th, was the game’s winning pitcher.
It’s been so far, so good for Tennessee with new head coach Josh Elander. At this early stage, the Vols are considered a long shot to win it all in Omaha. Believers in UT can get in on a 5% chance at prediction market Kalshi.
