Texas A&M in danger of dubious history after being swept by Mizzou

What a difference a week makes for Texas A&M. Last week, the Aggies picked up a key SEC series win over LSU, positioning them well to play in the postseason. Sunday, the outlook has taken a 180-degree turn after being swept by Mizzou at home.
With the sweep, Texas A&M falls to 27-23 overall, and the resume does not any better. The Aggies are only 10-17 in conference play. Traditionally, 13 regular-season wins are needed to make the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M will next face championship contender Georgia on the road in Athens.
The Mizzou sweep has caused A&M’s RPI to plummet 23 spots to No. 58 at WarrenNolan.com. Mizzou has an RPI of 135, meaning all 3 losses to the Tigers are Quad 4 for resume purposes.
MU entered the weekend having gone 0-24 in SEC play. It was expected to be the weekend that A&M shored up the necessary SEC wins for its NCAA Tournament resume before going on the road to face a Georgia squad that has the No. 1 RPI and is 27-3 at home.
For Texas A&M, an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament currently looks unlikely to happen. That was hard to imagine in February when the Aggies were the preseason No. 1 team in the country.
In quite the shocking weekend, @MizzouBaseball does a clean sweep of Texas A&M — not only beating the #Aggies, but absolutely dominating them in the final two games, outhitting A&M 38-11 in the series..

A&M, barring a surprise, will end up being the first preseason No. 1 to not…
Baseball fans everywhere will be curious to see if A&M can make a case in Week 14 against Georgia and then in the SEC Tournament.
