Texas is going to the College World Series. The No. 6 national seed Longhorns won the Austin Super Regional in thrilling fashion, coming out on top Sunday night against No. 11 seed Oregon to win the best-of-3 series.

It was a back-and-forth battle the Horns and the Ducks. Oregon had a 5-4 lead in the 8th inning before Adrian Rodriguez doubled down the line to make it 6-5 Texas, the game’s final score.

Texas, playing as the visiting team, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning. Oregon answered wth 1 in the 2nd inning and 2 in the 3rd. The Ducks tied it up in the 5th inning and went out in front 5-4 in the 7th.

Six outs from Omaha, Jim Schlossnagle turned to Sam Cozart. It was the right call, as Cozart pitched 2 perfect innings, striking out 4 of his 6 batters faced, without allowing a hit or issuing a walk.

It marks the program’s 39th trip to the College World Series and first under second-year coach Jim Schlossnagle.
