The New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals were busy at the MLB Trade Deadline on Tuesday.

Both squads have playoff aspirations, albeit in different ways. The Yankees have the best record in the American League. The Cardinals are fighting for a wildcard spot in the National League (and are also in position to make a run at the NL Central title).

But, before the trade deadline came and went on Tuesday, the 2 teams completed a swap of former SEC standouts.

The Cardinals received LHP Jordan Montgomery, a former South Carolina Gamecock, in exchange for OF Harrison Bader, a former Florida Gator:

Will this swap help both teams reach their goals this season? Interestingly, the Yankees head to St. Louis this weekend, so Montgomery and Bader will get to face their former teammates right away.
