2024-25 Preseason All-SEC Teams announced by conference coaches

SEC basketball season is tipping off soon! Ahead of the 2024-25 season, the conference coaches announced their preseason teams on Wednesday.

Alabama’s Mark Sears was named Preseason Player of the Year. Sears is joined on the Preseason All-SEC First Team by fellow Preseason AP All-American Johni Broome (Auburn), as well as Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr., Tennessee’s Zakai Zeigler, and Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV.

The preseason AP Top 25 features 9 SEC teams: Alabama 2nd, Auburn 11th, Tennessee 12th, Texas A&M 13th, Arkansas 16th, Texas 19th, Florida 21st, Kentucky 23rd, and Ole Miss 24th.

The 2024-25 regular season begins next week. Conference play in the SEC is set to tip off on Jan. 4. Tennessee is the defending regular-season champion. Auburn is coming off the SEC Tournament title. Alabama had the deepest NCAA Tournament run of any SEC team, reaching the Final Four.
