The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on Thursday, July 29, and a number of SEC stars should hear their names called in the first round.
This week, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman put together an updated mock draft, and he had the SEC providing 8 of the 30 Round 1 selections.
As you can see below, Tennessee guard Keon Johnson leads the way at No. 6, with 5 of the 8 SEC stars hearing their names called between picks 20 and 30:
- No. 6 — Keon Johnson, G, Tennessee — Golden State Warriors
- No. 11 — Moses Moody, G, Arkansas — Charlotte Hornets
- No. 19 — Tre Mann, G, Florida — New York Knicks
- No. 20 — Cam Thomas, G, LSU — Atlanta Hawks
- No. 22 — Isaiah Jackson, F, Kentucky — Los Angeles Lakers
- No. 23 — Jaden Springer, G, Tennessee — New York Knicks
- No. 24 — Sharife Cooper, G, Auburn — Houston Rockets
- No. 25 — Josh Primo, G, Alabama — Denver Nuggets
Josh Primo being in Round 1 is a bit of a surprise, but there has been a lot of buzz about him rising up draft boards lately. We’ll see if he decides to stay in the draft or return to school.
