Alabama, Auburn make top 8 for 5-star guard out of Texas

One of the top shooting guards in the class of 2023 has a pair of SEC rivals in his top group.

McKinney (Texas) standout Ja’Kobe Walter’s top 8 includes Auburn and Alabama. The Tigers and Tide are joined by Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma, Seton Hall, Texas and UCLA.

Listed at 6-5, 180 pounds, Walter is rated 5-stars, the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 23 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. Walter has visited Alabama and Auburn during his recruitment.
