Charles Bediako’s eligibility case has a new date for the hearing to decide whether he keeps playing for Alabama.

The court has rescheduled Bediako’s hearing to Friday, Feb. 6. This means Bediako will be eligible to play at Florida on Sunday and again on Wednesday when Texas A&M visits Tuscaloosa. The hearing is a day before Alabama travels to Auburn.

Ahead of Alabama’s game against Tennessee this past Saturday, Bediako was granted a temporary restraining order in his eligibility lawsuit against the NCAA. His injunction hearing was set for Tuesday, but was rescheduled due to winter weather that prevented an NCAA attorney from traveling to Alabama.

The rescheduled hearing allowed Bediako to play Tuesday night in Alabama’s 90-64 win over Mizzou. On Wednesday, the case was reassigned to a new judge after the NCAA requested a recusal due to the original judge’s status as an Alabama athletics donor. Many observers of the case amusingly noted that the new judge is a UA alumnus.

In 2 games, Bediako has logged 43 minutes. He is averaging 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Alabama is 14-6 overall and 4-3 in SEC play. The Tide are 1-1 since Bediako’s return.
