Alabama is hoping to have leading scorer Labaron Philon and Taylor Bol Bowen available for the Crimson Tide’s game against Auburn on Saturday.
According to the SEC availability report, though, it will be a game-time decision for both players.
Philon scored 17 points, dished out three assists, and added four rebounds in 36 minutes during the Tide’s 100-97 win over Texas A&M on Wednesday. But he picked up a thigh bruise during the contest and couldn’t practice on Friday. Philon leads the SEC in scoring with 21.4 points, just ahead of Auburn’s Keyshawn Hall (20.9).
The prognosis seems to be a little better for Bol Bowen. The forward played just two minutes on Sunday at Florida before leaving with a leg injury. He didn’t play against Texas A&M but was able to practice on Friday, where he was “moving pretty well” according to Nate Oats.
Alabama has alternated losses and wins during its last four games. It will now look for back-to-back victories for the first time in nearly a month as it tries to push up the SEC standings. The Crimson Tide entered the day 5-4 in conference action and are two games behind first-place Texas A&M and Florida.
Joe Lunardi’s bracketology currently has the Tide as a 5 seed in the West Region.
