Sometimes, it can feel like a team is trying to defend an extra offensive player. On Tuesday night, it appeared Alabama was literally trying to guard 5 Georgia Bulldogs with 4 Crimson Tide defenders.
Multiple viewers noticed in the first half that only 4 crimson jerseys were on the floor for a Georgia possession. Surprisingly, they were holding their own against UGA, and the Bulldogs eventually called a timeout. Mike White’s team did not take advantage of the extra-man situation.
Y’all help me out what am I missing?

I’m 99.9% sure Alabama just came out of a timeout and played defense with 4 guys. Funniest part is UGA had to spend a timeout to not go backcourt pic.twitter.com/G1qqZceMx8
Though the sequence did not prove to be of any consequence, it’s been that kind of night for the Tide in Athens. At the under-8:00 media timeout, Alabama trails Georgia 75-67. The Bulldogs have led for more than 25 minutes, compared to 3:41 lead time for Nate Oats’ squad.
Alabama entered Tuesday as one of the hottest teams in the SEC with a winning streak of 8 games. UA has also climbed in the polls, up to No. 16 in the latest AP Top 25.
The game is airing on ESPNews.
