Alabama’s Aden Holloway arrested with more than 1 pound of marijuana, per report

One of Alabama‘s standout players is dealing with a serious legal matter just before the Crimson Tide play in the NCAA Tournament.
According to reports, Aden Holloway was arrested Monday morning on charges of first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp. The West Alabama Narcotics Task Force conducted a search of a residence and recovered more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia and cash.

A junior transfer from Auburn, Holloway is Alabama’s second-leading scorer with an average of 16.8 points per game. Labaron Philon Jr. leads the Crimson Tide with 21.7 points per game.
Holloway has appeared in 28 games, making 27 starts this season. He’s a 48.1% shooter, averaging 28.5 minutes per game. Last time out in Alabama’s loss to Ole Miss at the SEC Tournament, Holloway scored 18 points.
Monday’s big news comes as UA is gearing up for the NCAA Tournament. Nate Oats’ team is 23-9 overall, earning the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region. The Crimson Tide will face 13-seed Hofstra on Friday in Tampa. Alabama went 13-5 in SEC play during the regular season, but was one-and-done in the SEC Tournament, falling to Ole Miss after receiving a double-bye.
