AP Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll: 3 SEC teams crack top 25, including 2 in top 5

The preseason women’s college basketball AP Poll has been released, and there are 3 SEC teams in the top 25.
Reigning champion South Carolina checks in at No. 1 in the poll, followed by Stanford, Texas, Iowa and Tennessee in the top 5. Elsewhere in the poll, the LSU Tigers are the third SEC team in the top 25, with Kim Mulkey’s crew ranking No. 16.
Several SEC teams — Georgia, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida and Alabama — are all included in the “also receiving votes” section.
