After the Jayhawks were eliminated at the buzzer against St. John’s in the Round of 32, Self told reporters that he was going to take some time and go home and speak with his family before making any type of decision on his future.
It has been a challenging last couple of seasons for Self, as the Jayhawks failed to make it to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for a fourth consecutive season. He has also dealt with some health issues that has forced him to miss games in multiple seasons the last couple of years.
