Through the 2022-23 season, Huggins was the winningest active head coach with 935 victories. A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee in 2022, Huggins has been a head coach at Walsh (1980-83), Akron (1984-89), Cincinnati (1989-2005), Kansas State (2006-07) and West Virginia (2007-present), posting a record of 935-414.
The DUI arrest is the second time this offseason that Huggins has made headlines for the wrong reasons. Huggins was facing a suspension and agreed to a salary cut after making multiple homophobic remarks during a radio interview.
