March Madness is underway and there have already been several takeaways from the action. One of those has nothing to do specifically with what has gone on on the court, but more so with the rate of viewership on TV.
CBS and Warner Bros. recently posted that it had delivered its most-watched ever first round (Thursday-Friday). The network totaled a complete audience delivery of 9.2 million viewers across CBS, TNT and TBS.
Friday’s coverage in particular was the most on that day in the history of the network for first-round March Madness with 9.3 million viewers across all platforms.
This marks a high point for CBS, and it will be interesting to watch how things progress both in terms of viewership and everything else in the peak of basketball postseason.
