College basketball AP Top 25, Week 6: Pair of SEC squads crack latest poll, several more receiving votes

The Week 6 AP Top 25 college basketball poll has arrived, and only 2 SEC teams remain in the latest iteration.
Tennessee and Kentucky are the 2 teams listed in the latest poll. The Vols sit at No. 12 after a strong week that saw Dalton Knecht and Co. down George Mason and Illinois. Kentucky played just once this week, beating Penn with little trouble as Aaron Bradshaw continues to work his way into the lineup.
Texas A&M falls out of the Top 25 from last week after dropping to Memphis.
Several more SEC teams received votes to crack the top 25, but just missed out on the Week 6 ranking. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Auburn, Alabama and South Carolina all received votes. Mississippi State is still being punished for a rough loss to Southern in early December and did not receive any top 25 votes despite a 7-2 start to the season.
It feels like college basketball just started and we’re already nearing the end of non-conference play. Only a few weeks remain until most schools begin their conference slate in late December/early January.
