College basketball DFS picks: 3 Underdog plays for Wednesday’s SEC slate (Feb. 18)
Wednesday’s college basketball slate includes 4 SEC games, headlined by a 7 p.m. ET clash between Alabama and Arkansas.
As always, this story will focus on 3 Underdog Fantasy plays to consider after surveying the entire SEC weekend slate.
College basketball DFS picks
Letโs examine 3 DFS picks to consider for Wednesday night on Underdog:
Texas A&M forward Rashaun Agee lower than 10.5 rebounds
Rashaun Agee is only averaging 9.7 rebounds per game in SEC play this season. Thatโs a respectable number, but is almost a full board lower than this projection from Underdog. Agee has gone lower than 10.5 rebounds in 6 of his last 11 games. As for Ageeโs opponent, Ole Miss, the Rebels play at a very slow pace (12th in SEC play per KenPom) which should limit the number of possessions that Agee is out there for.ย

Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner higher than 22.5 points
Tyler Tanner finally had a bad game last time out. He scored just 4 points on 10 shots and picked up 4 fouls, but it didnโt matter as Vanderbilt cruised to a blowout win over Texas A&M. I think Tanner gets back to his usual standard on Wednesday night. Prior to the A&M game, Tanner had scored 24+ points in 4 of his previous 5 contests. Duke Miles is still out for this game, so Tanner should have all the usage he wants in the back court. Another angle โ Tanner has an impressive 4.3% steal rate this season and heโs facing a Mizzou team that is 15th in the SEC in offensive turnover rate. We could see some easy transition baskets for Tanner in this one in addition to his work in the half court.
Alabama guard Labaron Philon higher than 22.5 points
Labaron Philon is averaging almost 21 points per game in SEC play this season, so perhaps getting to 23 is a tall task. But this is a matchup between a couple of the nationโs fastest teams, meaning there will be lots of extra possessions in this one. The total at most sports betting apps has been set at around 182.5 points. Thatโs pretty rare โ itโs only the third time all season that a college basketball game has been assigned a total of 180 or more. That indicates a high-scoring environment is on the horizon and Philon is one of college basketballโs best at putting the ball through the hoop.
