College basketball game halted in 2nd half for peculiar reason

You’ve heard of a bee delay in baseball and there was a possum delay during TCU/Texas Tech a week ago. And last night’s season-opening hoops matchup between Nevada and Sacramento State was delayed because yet another animal was where it shouldn’t be.
We had a bat delay, folks. With 5:40 remaining, several bats flew down to the playing surface, disrupting the game.

We may have a bit of a controversy on our hands with this one, too.
Sacramento State was on a run when the bats conveniently appeared just as the Hornets cut the Nevada lead to 7. Immediately following the delay Nevada went on a 14-7 run to win the game, 77-63.
Nevada associate HC Craig Neal tried to catch the bats with a towel a few times. To no avail, of course:
