College basketball team’s bus destroyed after catching fire returning from game in Kentucky

The IU Indianapolis basketball team had a scare on its return trip from a Sunday game against Northern Kentucky.
The team bus caught fire during the return trip around Kent, Indiana and the bus was destroyed. Thankfully, it was safely evacuated before the destruction and there were no injuries.
Kyla Russel of WISH-TV shared photos of the bus on social media:

The team says everyone evacuated and there were no injuries.

The team posted a statement on the matter to social media at 6:22 p.m. ET:
On the return drive from today’s game against Northern Kentucky, the bus carrying the IU Indianapolis men’s basketball team experienced a mechanical issue, that caused a fire around Kent, Indiana.
“All members of the team and staff evacuated the bus without injury. Another bus is en route to pick up the team and deliver them back to Indianapolis.
IU Indianapolis plays in the Horizon League. On the court, the Jaguars lost Sunday to Northern Kentucky 71-67, falling to 9-20 on the season. They next face Robert Morris at home on Thursday.
