College GameDay will head to the Lone Star State on Feb. 22 as Houston hosts Iowa State in a possible Top 10 matchup at the Fertitta Center.

The No. 6 Cougars, who visit No. 13 Arizona on Saturday in a game between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the Big 12, have won their last 3 after a 76-65 win against Baylor on Monday. They turned it over just 7 times while putting 5 players in double figures, led by L.J. Cryer’s 14.

Meanwhile, the Cyclones — 4th in the Big 12 and playing host to Cincinnati on Saturday — hit a rough stretch a few weeks ago as they lost 3 straight, but they’ve recovered to win two in a row against TCU and UCF. In Wednesday’s game against the Knights, Keshon Gilbert posted 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists while Joshua Jefferson totaled 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

It’s just the second time Houston has hosted the long-running college basketball pregame show. GameDay’s last visit there was in 2019 as the then-No.8 Cougars hosted UCF before a 69-64 upset loss.

This time around, the Cougars will look to avoid a similar fate as they look to position themselves as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
