The finalists for the 2025 Wooden Award were released on Monday, and to little surprise, Cooper Flagg and Johni Broome headlined the top finishers for the honor.

The John R. Wooden Award officially named its full list of 10 All-American recipients with the top 5 finishers earning first-team honors and being named finalists for the overall Wooden Award. Duke’s Flagg and Auburn’s Broome are likely to be the top 2 overall finishers with Florida star Walter Clayton Jr., Alabama guard Mark Sears and Purdue point guard Braden Smith rounding out the top 5.

Houston’s LJ Cryer, Marquette’s Kam Jones, Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner, Tennessee’s Chaz Lanier and Wisconsin’s John Tonje are the other Wooden All-Americans. The Wooden Award odds have featured a 2-player race between Flagg and Broome over the final month of the season, and the winner of this year’s Wooden Award will be announced during a live show on Friday, April 11.

No matter who wins from honor, it will be a new winner for both the men’s and women’s honor. Caitlin Clark (Iowa) and Zach Edey (Purdue) both captured the honor in 2023 and 2024 before vaulting into professional basketball.

In Flagg, Duke has a shot to add to its program record of past Wooden Award winners. The Blue Devils have taken home the honor 7 times with Zion Williamson in 2019 the last to capture the honor. Auburn has never produced a Wooden winner in its history.
