Darius Acuff Jr. leads Arkansas to thrilling SEC Tournament win over Oklahoma

Darius Acuff Jr. scored a game-high 37 points en route to Arkansas edging Oklahoma 82-79 in the quarterfinals of the SEC men’s basketball tournament on Friday. Arkansas advances to face Ole Miss in the semifinals on Saturday from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
It was a tight contest throughout the second half as neither team led by more than four points. Overall, the game had 16 lead changes and 11 ties.
Acuff scored 21 of his points in the first half to help Arkansas trail by only two at halftime. Acuff Jr. finished 11-of-21 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. He also added five rebounds and five assists.
Acuff carried the scoring load as Trevon Brazile (12 points) was the only other Arkansas player in double digits. The Razorbacks were effective defensively beyond the arc, though. Arkansas forced Oklahoma into 4-of-16 shooting from the 3-point line.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound freshman is having a sensational first college season. Acuff is averaging 22.7 points on 49.4 percent shooting along with 6.4 assists en route to being named the SEC Player of the Year by the coaches and a First-team All-American by The Sporting News.
